Just a feel good post for the new month. Today as i was doing the second half of my brick workout on my trainer (the wind/cold/rain in chicago still hasnt let up and i reguse to get pneumonia just so i can ride outside) i was keeping myself entertained by watching the reality show, the Biggest loser.
Actually, I watch it every week. Why? everyone needs motivation, and believe it or not, this show does it for me. You see people overcome whatever has inhibited their lives and you are reminded that you dont need a magic pill, you dont need surgery and that food can be your friends- all you do need to do is practice a little will power and learn to enjoy some physical activity.
Now todays espisode stood out for me because the tag line for the show was something like "See, as the contestants in their hardest challenge...EVER" The suspense almost KILLED me until i found out they had set up a mini triathlon for the contestants in Australia. This brought a smile to my face. As each contestant crossed the finish line they gushed about how they never in a million years thought they would be able to complete a triathlon, and how crossing the finish line reminds them of how far they have come.
The funny thing is... I feel like that every time i cross the finish line. It was good to see five more people get why I wake up at 5:15.
