Time flys...

when you are tired. I find myself about a month and a half away from my very first race and while i feel prepared, i definatly feel like i need to pay a little more attention to how much rest I get. I am at the beggining of a recovery week right now, which should definatly help.

Now, i am starting to really look into what I am going to go do to get the most out of my training, and I feel like one place i am still lacking a little is nutrition. Sure, I eat right, but as my workouts get longer, and i approach racing time, i realize that my tried and true tactics may not be useful on a 6 hour ride, for examples.

below is the link to an article that i found very interesting. People always mock me because i make myself coffee before my 5:30 am walk to the pool, but look there

"3. Caffeine has been shown to help your body burn fat and conserve glycogen. I have a cup of coffee before every morning workout and used Vivarin on race day."

i like the way that sounds. Anyway, i think the next few months are going to be full of me reading articles like this and trying to get a good plan together for maximized racing. I feel like i can finish just a little bit stronger if my body doesnt run on empty at any point.

all in all i am pretty pumped about racing season, and i dont really have much to say right now.... so there will be more later. There are alot of preparations
