Pre-season Ends

Now, obviously, im not "in season" right now as it is the beggining of march... in fact i dont have a race scheduled for another 3 months, but the end of february ended my format of training that i had dubbed as "maintanence". Now I am really going to start to gear up for my regular season races that stretch from June to September.

In all honsty, the next three months will NOT be that different as far as distance and time of training go. My weekdays will most likely still consist of tw0- a-day workouts with longer single block (or endurance bricks) on the weekends. What will change is my attention to detail. when i woudl normally wind down at the end of a long run, ill now push up a hill, or add a sprint before the end. Interval training will make its way into my riding workouts as well. Instead of a steady pace for 2-3 hours, ill make sure to alternate between aerobic and aneorobic phases.

The beggining of my training season coincided perfectly with my vacation to Boston to visit my best friend from highschool. I took 4 days off to enjoy sleeping in, eating and good company so I could hopefully come back refreshed. Theres not much more to say right now, other than i better start looking at what i need to accomplish/aquire over the next three months.

Next entry will most likely be an inventory of equipment. theres alot i have but ALOT i need to replace after last season when faulty pedals and water bottles made me abandon equiptment on the side of the rode during the actual event. Such is life.
