My favorite things

So, pre season training is going well I think. I added brick elements to my saturday and sunday long block workouts, and even added a track session to my normally 1 workout thursday. Ill probably jump up the volume soon, but i am pretty much ahead of schedule. June is 4 months away, with the beggining of my regular season, and Nov 1st is a scary 8 months away. I know that seems like forever now, but but once i start competing, those racing weeks are going to start flying by. And for those of you who are also pumping of for regular season, these are my favorite things... and hopefully soon yours too. they make training alot easier

Favorite (training) foods: training nutrition is super important and has to be a balance of protein fiber and carbs:A few of my favorites

Yoplait Thick and Creamy light: 100 calories , 5 grams of protein each and delicious flavors, these are a staple in my life
Boca/Morningstart veggie burgers: I dont eat alot of meat, and these make a great substitute.
Chex puppy chow: See the back of the box for a recipe. take out the butter, its totally useless in the recipe. I wouldnt eat an insane amount of this at one time, as its not necessarily healthy, but in the lines of a good trail mix, a handful of the chocolate and peanut butter combo is a great pick me up before a loooooong workout
Idaho potatoes: Im not sure what i would do without baked potatoes. My cooking skills are severely lacking adding to my mothers belief that I will never convince a man to be with me.. that said, A little salsa brocolli and cheese and you have a delicious dinner... or breakfast if you are me and havnt gone grocery shopping in a while.

Favorite race foods:
Power Gel Chocolate: One of the only bearable racing gel packs. the chocolate flavor is particularly good as you can pretend you are downing some very dense chocolate syrup from the bottle... watch out though its sticky and gets allll over your face.

Cliff Bar Power Shocks: those little gummy cubes are AMAZING during a race. they pack alot of punch and electrolytes and keep you hydrated well. but remember, they are not a sub for actual liquid, taken alone they could do a number on your digestive system.

Favorite training companion: My Ipod shuffle. hands down. that is all.

On my shuffle: Only country. Brooks and Dunn, Big and Rich, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Brad Paisley, .. the list goes on. Those of you who think you cant workout to anything other than rap/hip hop and obnoxious techno are wrong. you can workout to anything as long as YOU like it. it doesnt matter how "pumped" up that beefy guy at the gym thinks he is getting by listening to DJ Tiesto.

Favorite beverage when im not drinking water, coffee or gatorade: Diet Coke. All you people who are like WHAT you are an athlete and drink soda? Save the lecture. If you drink alcohol, eat fried food etc dont have habits any better. plus, i am allowed one vice.

Ok I am still decided between PayPal and Fundable.com for my donation collection methods, but there will be more info on that soon.

The next post will undoubtedly be about the American Gladiator Audition I am attending this saturday....
